Tuatha De (tribe of gods)

Tribe of Gods

The Tuatha De are known and revered throughout all of Zargos by the sentient races. Some sentient beings worship demonic abominations or abyssal creatures not listed here, but those are few and far between.

The pantheon is headed by the paternal and maternal forces known as Midir and Danu respectively. They are the parents of all the other gods and goddesses. However, unlike mortals, the gods and goddesses are not considered siblings since their creation was divine and unlike mortal births. They regard no rank or hierarchy beyond Midir and Danu. While many see each others as peers, some relations are strained and some of the deities are openly hostile towards others but there has never been an official declaration of war between any of the deities. It is believed that Danu and Midir forbid it, but that is debated among some religious scholars. Ultimately, each deity has been granted governorship over certain aspects of mortal life, which also owes its existence to Midir and Danu.

Tuatha Ars Notor (tenets of the tribe)

Here are the general tenets of all who worship members of the Tuatha De.

1. The gods and goddesses are real eternal incorporeal beings who cannot die.
2. The gods and goddesses live in Celestia.
3. The gods and goddesses are beyond mortal suffering.
4. It is the lot of mortals to suffer and toil.
5. Souls of those who earn divine favor are destined to live in Celestia after their bodies death in the mortal realm.
6. Mortals who fail to find divine favor from a god or goddess are cursed with reincarnation.
7. Mortals who earn the ire or wrath of the gods or goddesses can have their souls damned to the Nether, where suffering is tenfold, eternal and beyond redemption or salvation.
8. The gods or goddesses may choose to gift chosen followers with powers to aid other followers and enforce the deities will.
9. Each god or goddess has decreed an Ars Notor (book of tenets) to aid their individual followers. Those who follow the tenets shall find divine favor.
